A study has found that people who regularly climb stairs tend to live healthier and longer lives compared to those who do not. The research team at the University of East Anglia in the UK analyzed nine research papers involving approximately 480,000 participants and reported these findings.

 

According to research findings, people who regularly climb stairs as part of their daily routine have a 24% lower risk of death from all causes compared to those who do not. Additionally, it was analyzed that this habit reduces the risk of death from cardiovascular diseases such as heart attack, heart failure, and stroke (ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke) by 39%.On Tuesday, July 23rd, climbing stairs can help you live longer and healthier by this much.

"If you have to choose between stairs and an elevator, you should use the stairs. Engaging in brief physical activity is beneficial for your heart and overall health. Climbing stairs for a short distance is an easy form of exercise that can be incorporated into daily life," he said.

 

According to the research team, most cardiovascular diseases can be prevented through physical activities such as exercise. However, more than one in four adults worldwide do not meet the recommended levels of physical activity. Climbing stairs is a practical and easily accessible form of physical activity, but many cases of it are overlooked.
