It is reported that the product name of Hanmi Pharmaceutical's first independently developed new obesity drug has been confirmed as EPPE.

Following Denmark's Novo Nordisk's Wigobi and the U.S.'s Eli Lilly's Ma Unzaro, Epeneyo has thrown down the gauntlet in the domestic obesity drug market.

Hanmi Pharmaceutical says it will launch the product by the end of the year at the latest.

It is said that expectations are high regarding whether EFE will bring a breath of fresh air to the obesity drug market, as its competitive edge lies in its specialized design tailored to the Korean constitution.
