I had my first wisdom tooth removal procedure at Herb Dental Clinic in Nowon-gu.
They say the timing for wisdom tooth treatment varies from person to person, right?
In my case as well, I lived without experiencing any discomfort related to wisdom teeth until quite a late age.
At some point, I felt a tooth-like sensation in the gum behind my molar, and it felt like it was gradually pushing upward.
I heard that wisdom teeth are incredibly painful and troublesome from the moment they come in.
In my case, there was absolutely nothing like that. It just popped up without me even noticing, like a new tooth growing in, so I just thought, "Oh, that's how it is."
At some point, it had grown in quite a bit. However, true to a wisdom tooth, it grew in crookedly, not just a little.
I was just going about my daily life when I went to Hub Dental Clinic in Nowon-gu, which I visit often, for a consultation.
I had no experience with wisdom teeth and was surrounded only by terrifying stories, so I felt a bit uncomfortable and scared.
After looking at it, he said that if I managed it well, I could just watch it, but since it was so misaligned, it would be difficult to manage, so he suggested I pull it out.
Furthermore, they said that it grew out relatively cleanly, making it easy to pull out and unlikely to cause any aftereffects.
I went to the trouble of traveling a long distance because I had enough faith, so I proceeded with the procedure right away.
The anesthetic injection is the most painful part, and would extracting a wisdom tooth really take even 5 seconds? In less than 10 seconds, I felt something being twisted, and then they pulled it out immediately.
They gave me about two days' worth of medicine.
They told me to spit out all the blood that comes out and said I just need to bite down on the cotton they inserted for about an hour or two.
It was the first wisdom tooth I had ever had extracted in my life, and there was no pain or trouble.
I only ate soft scorched rice for dinner that evening; from the next day on, it was my daily routine.
I think it was a very lucky dental experience.
