I felt pain in my mouth starting Friday afternoon, but I didn't think much of it, thinking it was because I was tired. But on Saturday afternoon, it hurt so bad that I looked closely in the mirror and saw that the bottom of my tongue was swollen and even had a yellowish inflammation. After a tough weekend, I went to the ENT clinic I occasionally visit early on Monday. First, they squeezed out the yellow inflammation with a cotton swab and diagnosed me with stomatitis. I was prescribed a three-day supply of antibiotics and started taking them that day. It was difficult because the pain and swelling didn't go down even after a day. Fortunately, on the second day, the pain went away and only the swelling remained. After I finished taking the remaining day's medication, the swelling was completely gone.
