The interior of the hospital has a refreshing atmosphere with green interiors.

I guess the concept was chosen in green because green is a color that is comfortable for the eyes.

It is a local hospital, so it is not a large hospital, but it is not small and is of medium size.

It also has an operating room.

Seeing that there is an operating room, I guess many people trust this ophthalmology clinic and get surgery there.

On Saturdays, it's open until 5pm.

These days, there is no lunch break and the clinic closes at 1 or 2 o'clock, but it is an ophthalmology clinic that is open quite late at 5 o'clock.

I mainly received treatment for styes and conjunctivitis at this ophthalmology clinic.

I get styes and conjunctivitis really often.

One day, I woke up after sleeping for 4 hours, but my eyes were bloodshot because I couldn't sleep.

As someone who has suffered from conjunctivitis many times, I didn't go to the hospital at first because it wasn't severely congested and there were only red blood vessels.

In fact, mild conjunctivitis may get better naturally over time without taking medication.

But the problem is, when I looked in the mirror, I saw something that I couldn't tell if it was pus or fluid collected inside my eyelid.

At first I thought it was eye boogers, but after removing them and looking in the mirror a few hours later, I saw that they had grown back.

Then the next night, my eyes suddenly became much more bloodshot and swollen than the day before.

Hives and redness usually get worse at night.

So, suddenly, my eyes started getting redder and redder very quickly.

My double eyelids were also swollen like sausages.

The picture was taken while I was lying down at night, so it's blurry and you can't see the bloodshot eyes, but the whites of my eyes were all red!

So then I went to the hospital

I thought it was conjunctivitis, but I was surprised when I heard it was keratitis.

Keratitis is a disease that causes inflammation in the cornea, the black part of the eye, and has various causes.

Somehow the area around the black pupils was red..

They said my eyes were swollen because the skin around my eyes was thin due to inflammation.

According to the director, keratitis can be caused by simple dryness, bacterial infection, allergies, or even lack of sleep like I did.

In addition, if you have rhinitis, you are more likely to develop eye disease... (I have rhinitis myself)

Conjunctivitis is usually very painful, but keratitis was more of a dull ache, like a slight bruise, rather than pain. My symptoms were a heaviness when I closed and opened my eyes, and pus kept forming.

Still, thanks to the director's quick diagnosis and kind explanation, I was able to learn a lot about the disease called keratitis.

I believe that kindness is the lifeblood of a hospital, and not only the director but also the administrative staff were all very kind and the best.

It is also famous in the neighborhood as a friendly hospital.

The hospital prescribed antibiotic eye drops and anti-inflammatory medication.

My eyes are still swollen, but after taking the antibiotics, the redness in the whites of my eyes went away right away. As expected from the antibiotics. Haha.

And while I was at the ophthalmologist, I was also prescribed artificial tears.

I had to put those eye drops in several times a day at set times, and the doctor told me in advance that it might sting because of the inflammation, and it really stung at first.

Still, eye diseases can be cured quickly with antibiotics.

As expected, after taking the medicine, the whites of my eyes returned to normal as if I had never had any bloodshot eyes, and my swollen eyes returned to their original state.

There was a little pus, but it was less than before. It didn't go away all at once, but it gradually decreased as I took the medicine.

Now it is 100% recovered and in a very clean condition with no swelling, pus, or congestion!
