About my experience with psychiatry to overcome post-stroke phobias.
After completing the rehabilitation treatment for cerebral infarction, his physical functions recovered to about 95%. However, whenever he crossed an overpass, he would imagine that the overpass would collapse, and when he took an elevator, he would imagine that the elevator would fall, so he was afraid of taking the elevator and would only use the stairs for about three floors. It seemed like it would be very difficult, so he complained to his neurologist, and he said something like
He recommended psychiatric treatment, saying it was similar to panic disorder. I decided on a psychiatric hospital near my house and took the same amount of medication for about 6 months.
I continued to receive treatment while uploading
However, since there was no satisfactory way to overcome the phobia and there was no story to say about overcoming the phobia, I steadily trained myself to cross overpasses and take elevators alone for about a month and found that there was some improvement. When I told my doctor about this result, he said that it was a good training method and that mental disorders can be cured through continuous physical repetitive training and mental illness, and advised me to continue training. After continuing the training for about 6 months, I am now at a level where I have overcome the fear to some extent, although it is not perfect.
This is my story of struggling with mental illness.
