I've tried every treatment imaginable for my acne — a summary of the ones that didn't work and the ones that actually helped.
Every time my skin broke out violently, I was so stressed that I even developed social phobia.
I've tried every treatment imaginable because of my acne, so I'll honestly summarize them for you.
I've tried all sorts of treatments like acne laser PDT and Agnes, but they had almost no effect.
These are procedures that claim to eliminate sebaceous glands, but I didn't see much difference.
And if a dermatologist recommends Fraxel without proper consultation, do not go there.
I have seen so many cases where people's skin went to hell after getting Fraxel done incorrectly.
Please also be careful with inflammatory injections.
It is an injection given for swollen and painful acne, but if administered incorrectly, it can leave pitted marks. I have experienced that myself. I recommend getting it only for pimples that are on the verge of bursting.
(Now that I've written it down, it's nothing but things to watch out for lol. It might just be my skin, and since the procedure works well for some people, please just take it as a case-by-case situation.)
Finding the right acne medication is really important. I couldn't stand Isotretinoin because it caused such severe dryness.
My eyes and mouth were both dry, and my lips were completely chapped. I switched to antibiotics, and it worked immediately.
If it doesn't work after two weeks, try switching to a different medication.
And you must go to a place with a dermatologist to get an accurate diagnosis of whether it is acne, folliculitis, or rosacea.
Lastly, I highly recommend getting a food allergy test. After the test, I found out that yogurt and cheese don't agree with me, and avoiding them significantly reduced my sebum production.
