I am worried because the dark spots under my eyes and on my cheekbones have widened, and my wrinkles have worsened. Will the procedure be effective?
Melasma started appearing little by little under my eyes and on my cheekbones a few years ago, but recently, the area has expanded and the color has darkened so much that it is difficult to cover even with makeup, which is a major concern for me. It seems to get darker with even a little sunlight, and it definitely stands out more after outdoor activities, so I am self-conscious every time I go out. At first, it looked like small spots, but now it has spread to the point where it makes my entire face look dull, which is causing me a lot of stress.
My wrinkles are also getting worse. In the past, I only had fine lines, but lately, deep wrinkles have settled around my eyes and cheekbones, becoming clearly visible whenever I smile. My skin elasticity has also decreased, making me look older, which has significantly lowered my confidence.
The methods I have personally tried include using whitening cosmetics and creams specifically for melasma, consistently applying sunscreen, undergoing laser toning treatments at a dermatology clinic a few times, and using whitening masks and ampoules for home care. However, the effects are not noticeable, and I feel frustrated because my melasma seems to have actually widened and my wrinkles appear to have worsened.
If anyone has had a similar experience, I would be very grateful if you could share when and under what circumstances your melasma or wrinkles worsened, as well as any treatments or management methods that were helpful.
