Is orthodontic treatment possible?

Our whole family has protruding front teeth. We grew up in the countryside and didn't know about orthodontics when we were young. As an adult, I realized that if I get orthodontic treatment, my teeth could also look nice. My son, who is in elementary school, also has protruding front teeth like me, so I am thinking of getting him braces. Can I also have a consultation with him? I have never seen someone my age undergoing orthodontic treatment, so I am hesitant. Or should I just continue living as I have so far since I have managed so well until now?
