(Concern) Orthodontics

I searched to see when it would be good for my child to get braces because they said they want to get orthodontic treatment, and it says to visit an orthodontic clinic regularly from a young age and get braces according to the condition.

I'm curious about when people usually undergo orthodontic treatment, and I also want to get braces. While braces improve appearance, I'm wondering if there are any disadvantages, such as weakening the gums later on.
