Implant treatment period

My biological father is undergoing implant treatment, but he had his tooth extracted and has not had the implant for over a year.

It's okay to ask if you felt uncomfortable chewing after having a tooth extracted.

Out of frustration, my sister inquired at the dental clinic and was told that her gums were not healthy, so she has been undergoing gum treatment continuously.

I recently spoke with my biological father and heard that his gums have improved and he will be getting implants. Does getting implants take such a long time to treat?
