Is it common to have sensitive teeth after a scaling?

My teeth are sensitive to cold water for a few days after getting a scaling.

At first, I thought that was how it was supposed to be, but
Some people around me said it wasn't that cold, so I wondered if I was the only one who felt that way.

Maybe it's because my teeth are weak
I'm also confused whether this is a temporary symptom that appears after scaling.

It's so hard to decide whether to go back to the hospital or just endure it in times like this.
