(Question) Is it only possible to extract an impacted wisdom tooth at a university hospital?

During my last health checkup impacted wisdom tooth I received the following opinion.
Actually, I knew I had wisdom teeth and hadn't had any pain until now.
I was enduring the pain, but I heard that if I remove it when it hurts, it affects other teeth as well.
I'm holding it in because I'm scared of the dentist, but I'm getting it extracted before the pain starts. Should I do it?
