A dull ache in the eyes

Should I say my eyes are itchy?

It's not a stiff feeling, but sometimes it feels a bit sore.

It's not a dull ache all day long.

Even when it feels numb, I think I should go to the hospital.

When I get better, I tend to forget everything again.

I believe an eye examination is the best, but I am wondering if this kind of issue can be simply resolved with eye drops, so I am leaving this message.
