Loss of smell after recovering from COVID-19. Are there others like me?
I first contracted COVID-19 last summer.
And after taking the medication, I was quite in pain, but I think I recovered after about two weeks.
Since then, it's been hard to smell.
I had heard a lot about such side effects.
They say it naturally and gradually recovers over time.
I was really looking forward to it.
It has been three seasons, but I still haven't fully recovered.
It has become even more strange ㅠㅠ
At first, there was really no smell at all.
I am a full-time housewife, but I need to cook food, and there is no smell.
It was also difficult to taste the flavor of the food.
I couldn't even smell the garbage odor.
It's been a few years since COVID-19 became widespread, and luckily, we already knew about the side effects.
If it wasn't, I might have run anxiously to the hospital.
Not only me, but my husband as well.
It's been a few months since I decided to wait, wondering whether both are foolish or calm.
Fortunately, my husband seems to be better than me.
They say that the recovery is not yet as good as before, but it seems to be improving.
But I still can't smell it well unless it's a strong scent.
I can smell things like stew odors.
The subtle fragrance seems to be truly felt only when you take a deep breath.
It's still okay to this extent.
There probably won't be any major issues with living, but the problem is
There is a smell that feels different from the one I used to notice before.
The most representative smell is that of orange peel.
It seems like it will look really strange,ㅠㅠ
The orange scent is really nice. I enjoy it very much.
The smell of the remaining peel after peeling the orange
If you keep some distance, it feels like a cigarette smell.
It really smells just like cigarette smoke ㅠㅠ
At first, I didn't know what it was, so I really thought someone nearby was smoking.
I thought you were coming into my house.
I've never experienced that before, and there are no new residents who have moved in.
I used to get annoyed thinking that the flowers bloom because customers come.
Every time that happens, other family members say they don't smell anything.
Moreover, as it kept repeating, I realized.
Whenever I smell cigarette smoke, I get a severe headache.
I had no headaches at all.
It's not the smell of cigarettes~~
So, after thinking about the cause, every time that happens
I ate an orange and left the peel in the sink ㅠㅠ
It's so strange that I looked it up and found that there are others like me.
I am trying to smell, but the same smell feels different...
Are there any members of Cashdoc who might be in such a situation?
It seems there isn't really a cure even if I go to the hospital.
Is there anyone who has recovered or knows any folk remedies?
