There is a gap the size of a thumbnail next to my M-shaped hairline. Could this be alopecia areata?

I've always had an M-shaped hairline, but recently I noticed that the area next to the right side of the M-line was particularly sparse.
The size seems to be roughly about the size of my thumbnail.
The problem is, I have absolutely no idea when this started happening.
I can't tell if it's been like that from the beginning or if it's something that just started recently.
I usually keep my hair long, so I think I might not have noticed until now.
The left side is okay, but the right side looks particularly empty, so it bothers me.
I'm wondering if this is just a part that appeared as M-shaped hair loss progressed.
Or could this be because everyone's hairline is naturally asymmetrical?
If you look closely, it does seem like there are a few fine hairs.
So it doesn't look like the pores have completely disappeared, but I'm not exactly sure.
In this case, would it be appropriate to visit a dermatologist or a hair loss clinic for a consultation?
I am also curious to know how those who have had a similar experience verified this.
I am also wondering if it can be refilled with oral medication or topical treatments.
If this is my natural hairline and not hair loss, I intend to just accept it.
I would appreciate any opinions or advice from those who have experienced a similar case.
