This is a review of a health checkup I received at Gyeonggi Myongji Hospital.
Hospital Introduction
I used to get my health checkups at a place near my workplace, but since my parents go to Myongji Hospital, I also got my health checkup at Myongji Hospital in September of this year.
Myongji University is in Seoul, but Myongji University Hospital is in Gyeonggi-do.
There are many names such as Myongji Hospital, Myongji University Hospital, and Myongji Medical Foundation Myongji Hospital, but they are all the same place.
I just happened to see a text message saying there was a discount on a health checkup, so I went.
Health checkup items
There are two types of checkups: basic and detailed. At first, I was thinking about getting the detailed checkup.
Since I'm still young, I just went with the basic comprehensive course.
Actually, there's a reason I only did the basics because I was scared haha. I'll probably have to get a thorough checkup someday... I'm already scared.
You must fill out a health checkup form in advance before your visit. You can fill out the form using the URL sent through the hospital's official KakaoTalk channel.
There was no difficult content.
Inside the hospital
I've been to Myongji Hospital before, but this was my first time at the health screening center. The interior was beautifully done, with a natural, eco-friendly feel. It was lush and green, like a cafe! That's why the screening center wasn't simply called "Checkup Center," but had a separate name: "Forest Maru."
They said they put a lot of thought into the interior.
The examination room is divided into individual rooms like this.
Health checkup process
When you arrive, go to the desk and check in.
The desk staff was frankly not very friendly.
Actually, I don't think I've ever seen a kind person among the university hospital staff.
But the nurses and doctors were all kind.
When you register, they give you a bracelet, and they seem to be using a very futuristic method lol.
This is my first time having a checkup at a large hospital, so I may be just finding out now.
Before getting tested, I tagged my bracelet on the tab, and my personal information was automatically transferred. I just had to insert my checkup form and wait. It was amazing.
First, you will undergo a basic vision and hearing test. Then, you will go into the room in the photo above and tag yourself in.
To be honest, the test was so basic that it ended so quickly that it felt insincere.
And after taking my blood pressure, I waited again, and when I saw that the screen said the waiting time was 80 minutes, I was so surprised that I took a picture and sent it to my family... Luckily! I was in after 10 minutes.
After that, I went through a full health checkup and finally had a sleep endoscopy.
When I finished and came out, it took about 2 hours and 30 minutes in total.
After the examination, the doctor explained everything very kindly and clearly.
After the checkup, you'll be given a meal voucher, which you can use at the hospital cafeteria. I used it without hesitation.
Reason for recommendation
Although Myongji University Hospital offers checkups without an appointment, we still recommend making an appointment.
When you make a reservation, you will receive a mobile questionnaire via KakaoTalk in advance, so if you fill it out and submit it before your visit, you can get your checkup done faster.
The desk staff were not very friendly because they had to see too many patients and keep saying the same things.
The doctors and nurses who conducted the examination were all thorough and kind.
Even though the hospital is old, it doesn't feel old and the facilities are very nice.
If you live in Goyang City, there is a university hospital nearby, so it might be a good idea to get a health checkup at Daebyeong!
