5 Signs That Your Body Fat Is Well DecreasingWhen dieting, it is easy to become sensitive to weight changes by weighing yourself daily. However, even if there is little change in weight, body fat may be decreasing. Here are five signs that can indicate this.

Increase in urine volume

Since starting exercise and diet management, if you notice an increase in urination frequency and sweating more, it is a sign that your diet is progressing successfully. This is because the accumulated waste products are being expelled smoothly through increased metabolism, leading to more urine and sweat. An increase in urine volume may also indicate that you are drinking enough water. Drinking plenty of water helps boost metabolism and aids in burning fat. In fact, during dieting, one of the most important factors besides diet management is 'adequate hydration.' It is recommended to sip warm water gradually rather than chugging cold water.

 

 

◇Foods I used to enjoy suddenly feel刺激ly intense

When losing weight, sweet, spicy, and salty foods that were enjoyed before dieting may feel more stimulating. This is because I have been consistently managing my diet, so these flavors suddenly seem more intense. Conversely, if during dieting you are unaware that the flavors are stimulating and continue to rely on or seek stronger stimulation, you should suspect 'taste addiction.' Taste addiction involves excessive dependence or obsession with certain flavors, mainly focusing on sweet and salty tastes that stimulate the appetite control center. In this case, eating opposite flavors can be helpful. For example, consuming foods with a lower glycemic index instead of sweets, and eating vegetables first instead of salty foods to help excrete sodium. However, extreme withdrawal can lead to withdrawal symptoms and overeating, so caution is necessary.

 

◇Improved sleep quality

Losing body fat leads to better sleep. Our bodies primarily use carbohydrates and fats as main energy sources. When fat decreases, initially, energy supply may be reduced, causing fatigue. However, once body fat is reduced, sleep quality improves, and fatigue is alleviated after sleep. In fact, a 2016 study by a research team at the University of Pennsylvania in the United States compared the sleep quality of people with normal weight and those who are overweight. The study found that individuals with normal weight experienced fewer eye blinks and lower heart rates during sleep, indicating a higher proportion of deep sleep.

 

 

Pain relief and increased joint range of motion

Losing weight reduces the burden on the joints and alleviates pain. It also brings about changes in movement. The body becomes lighter, and actions that were difficult due to excess weight become possible. The disappearance of unnecessary fat increases agility and endurance, and as the area occupied by fat decreases, the range of motion expands. If you find yourself running faster than before, being able to perform more vigorous exercise, or doing activities such as washing your back in the shower, trimming your nails, or tying shoelaces, these can be signals that you are losing weight.

◇More defined facial contours

If the facial contour becomes more defined, it is a sign that body fat has decreased. The face is a area where fat is lost quickly. This is because it has a high concentration of 'beta receptors' that aid in fat breakdown. Beta receptors bind to an enzyme in the face called lipoprotein lipase, which breaks down fat. The fat particles distributed in the face are smaller than those in other areas, so they are broken down relatively quickly.
