Sharing my experience with retinal examination and retinal tear treatment

I have regular eye exams once a year, and this time, I went and was diagnosed with a retinal tear. I received treatment for it. At first, retinal tear treatment was unfamiliar and scary, but it seems like many people are getting it. I'm sharing my retinal tear treatment process, and I hope it's helpful.
At my regular eye exams, I get a dilated pupil and various tests, including an OCT. Then, this time, I was told I had a hole in my retina, even though there were no other abnormalities. This is called a retinal tear, and it occurs when the retina tears at the point where the vitreous body attaches, creating a hole. The retina needs to be attached to the inner wall of the eye to function properly, and a hole here can cause vision problems, so I underwent retinal tear treatment. Retinal tear treatment involves laser treatment. This involves applying a laser to the area around the tear, causing a burn on the retina to form adhesion and prevent the tear from expanding further. The treatment went well, but when I asked about the cause of the tear, I was told it can occur for no apparent reason. So, I was glad I came for my regular eye exam. After the treatment, I looked into the symptoms of a retinal tear and was told that while there may be no symptoms, it can also cause a sensation like seeing flies fluttering around, or blurred vision. Although retinal tear treatment was a bit unfamiliar, this opportunity made me realize I need to pay more attention to my eye health and overall health. Eating eye-healthy foods and supplements, as well as maintaining a regular routine, are crucial.
