What does it do?

Gestoden is a synthetic progestin hormone that is primarily used in oral contraceptives. This ingredient works by regulating the female reproductive cycle to prevent pregnancy.

Gestoden inhibits ovulation in the female reproductive system and thickens cervical mucus, which obstructs sperm movement. It also induces changes in the endometrium, making it difficult for a fertilized egg to implant.

Approved uses differ by product. Check each product's information for its actual use.

Good to know

Compared to other progestin ingredients, Gestoden has less androgenic activity, resulting in relatively fewer side effects. As a result, the incidence of side effects such as skin problems or weight gain is lower.
