Precautions

This medicine contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, which breaks down into phenylalanine in the body. Therefore, patients with the hereditary condition phenylketonuria should not take this medicine. The maximum daily intake of aspartame should be limited to 40mg/kg as recommended by the WHO, so the minimum amount should be used as much as possible. Additionally, this medicine contains lactose, so patients with genetic problems such as galactose intolerance, lactose enzyme deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should avoid taking this medication. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not take this medicine, as the rhubarb ingredient may induce uterine contractions. Lactating women should also refrain from taking this medicine, as it may cause diarrhea in their babies through breast milk. Individuals with high blood pressure or heart or kidney diseases, as well as those with edema, must consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. Those who have experienced skin rashes or itching due to medication in the past also need to consult before taking it. If gastrointestinal conditions are poor or symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting are present, consultation with a professional is required before taking this medication. People who are very physically weak may experience side effects more readily, so caution is needed. If symptoms suspected to be related to liver disease, such as fatigue, loss of appetite, jaundice, severe abdominal pain, or dark urine occur during use, the medication should be stopped immediately and a professional consulted. Similarly, symptoms such as swelling of the face or limbs, increased blood pressure, headaches, or muscle weakness should prompt cessation and consultation with a doctor. Discontinuation is also advised if gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, or diarrhea exacerbate. The prescribed method and dosage must be strictly followed when taking this medication, and it should be administered under adult supervision for children. If a skin rash or itching occurs after taking, usage should be stopped immediately and a professional consulted. If symptoms such as decreased urine output, edema, or increased blood pressure appear, cease taking and seek advice. If symptoms do not improve after taking this medication for over one month, consulting a professional is advisable. When taking over a long period, consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is essential, and care must be taken with the dosage, as rhubarb's laxative effect varies greatly among individuals. Irritant laxatives can lead to tolerance and worsened constipation with prolonged use, so it is preferable not to use them continuously for more than one week. Caution is required when taking in conjunction with other herbal medicines or botanicals, especially preparations containing rhubarb. Caution is also needed when taking potassium-containing preparations, licorice, or certain diuretics due to the risk of hypokalemia or myopathy. When storing, keep out of reach of children and store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. It is important to keep the medication in its original container to prevent misuse and maintain quality.
