Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, individuals who are allergic to this medication or similar types of drugs, children under 12 years of age, and patients with genetic issues that prevent the digestion of lactose should not take this medication. Additionally, patients with severely impaired liver or kidney function, certain cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, or various other health issues should use this medication cautiously. Those allergic to certain dyes included in this medication should also exercise caution. When taking this medication, dizziness or fainting may occur, so it is especially important to be careful when taking it for the first time or suddenly increasing the dose. If fainting occurs, lay the person down immediately and seek necessary treatment; most of these symptoms will resolve over time. Depression, nervousness, dizziness, headaches, drowsiness, indigestion, changes in blood pressure, swelling, respiratory symptoms, and various side effects may occur. This medication can cause dizziness or drowsiness when first taken or restarted after stopping; therefore, operating vehicles or handling dangerous machinery should be avoided. This medication is used to relieve symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia, but since similar symptoms may occur with prostate cancer, an accurate diagnosis is necessary before treatment. While taking this medication, care should be taken as combining it with other antihypertensive medications may lead to excessively low blood pressure. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should consult a doctor before taking this medication, and nursing mothers should avoid taking it or discontinue breastfeeding if possible. Safety and efficacy in children have not been established, so it should not be used in this population. Elderly patients should start at a low dose to prevent excessively low blood pressure and should be closely monitored. In case of overdose, severe hypotension may occur, requiring immediate medical attention; dialysis is not effective in these cases. This medication should be stored out of the reach of children, and it is recommended not to transfer it to another container.
