This medication is used for respiratory conditions such as cough, phlegm, and asthma.
How to take
Adult dose
Ages 15 and over: Take 1 pouch (15mL) three times a day, 30 minutes after meals.
Child dose
Ages 11 to under 15 years: Take 2/3 pouch (10mL) three times a day, 30 minutes after meals. Ages 8 to under 11 years: Take 1/2 pouch (7.5mL) three times a day after meals.
Precautions
This medication contains artificial sweetener aspartame, which breaks down into phenylalanine in the body. Therefore, it should not be used by patients with the genetic disorder phenylketonuria. The maximum allowable daily intake of aspartame is limited to 40mg per kg of body weight, so it should be used in the minimum possible amount. Infants under 3 months should not take this medication. Additionally, individuals with a history of allergic reactions to this medication or its components should avoid it. Persons taking MAO inhibitors, such as antidepressants and antipsychotics, or who have stopped taking them within the last 2 weeks should not take this medication. During treatment with this medication, care should be taken not to use other cough suppressants, cold medicines, antihistamines, or sedatives. If unusual symptoms such as rash, itching, vomiting, dizziness, or insomnia occur while taking this medication, the dosage should be stopped immediately and consultation with a professional should occur. Furthermore, if symptoms do not improve after 5-6 doses, use should be discontinued and medical advice should be sought. Children under 2 years old should be avoided unless in special circumstances.
