Vitamin D is especially needed during pregnancy and lactation, for growing children, and in old age. During these periods, it helps bones and teeth develop healthily and is essential for preventing rickets, which can occur due to vitamin D deficiency. The vitamin D contained in this medication promotes normal development of bones and teeth and is effective in preventing rickets. Therefore, it is used when vitamin D supplementation is necessary during pregnancy and lactation, growth period, and in old age.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults should take 1 to 2 tablets once a day.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by patients with hypercalcemia, sarcoidosis (a systemic inflammatory disease of unknown cause), and those with kidney disease. Additionally, individuals with allergic reactions to this medication or its components, babies under 12 months of age, patients with kidney stones, and those with severe renal failure should also avoid taking this medication. While taking this medication, it should not be combined with certain medications such as phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline preparations, and antacids. Women undergoing treatment, pregnant or potentially pregnant women, lactating individuals, patients with heart or circulatory issues, those with kidney disorders, hypoalbuminemia, those taking cardiac glycosides, and those with a history of kidney stones must consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, hypotension, flushing, irregular heartbeat, or skin rash occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a specialist. Also, be cautious as overdose or prolonged use can lead to side effects such as hypercalcemia or urolithiasis, gastrointestinal disorders, edema, and congestive heart failure. This medication must be taken exactly as prescribed, and it is advisable to avoid tea containing tannins, such as green tea or black tea, before and after taking it. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children, and it is important not to transfer it to other containers to maintain quality.
