Vitamin D is especially needed during pregnancy, breastfeeding, childhood growth, and old age. This medication helps in the healthy development of bones and teeth, and is used to prevent rickets. Therefore, it can effectively assist those concerned about bone health.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults: Take 1 tablet once daily.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by patients with hypercalcemia (too much calcium in the blood), sarcoidosis (a systemic inflammatory disease of unknown cause), or renal disease. Additionally, those who have allergic reactions to any of the ingredients, infants under 12 months, patients with kidney stones, and those with severe renal failure should avoid this medication. While taking this medication, it is advisable to not take other medications like phosphate, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, or antacids together. Patients receiving medical treatment, pregnant or breastfeeding women, premature infants or young babies, those having heart or circulatory issues, renal impairment, low protein levels, those taking cardiac glycosides, or those with a history of kidney stones should consult a specialist before taking this medication. If during the intake of this medication symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, low blood pressure, facial flushing, or irregular heartbeats, and skin rashes appear, the medication should be stopped immediately and a specialist should be consulted. Moreover, excessive intake of Vitamin B12 may lead to hematological issues and overdose can cause gastrointestinal discomfort, hypernatremia, heart failure, and edema, so caution is required. Long-term use may lead to hypercalcemia or stone formation, and when taken with certain diuretics, potassium levels may dangerously increase, hence caution is necessary. If an excessive amount of the medication is mistakenly taken or symptoms do not improve after a month of use, consult a specialist immediately. This medication must be taken according to the specified dosages, and it is advisable to avoid consuming tannin-rich teas like green tea or black tea before and after taking it. When storing, keep it out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, in a cool, dry place, and well-sealed to maintain its quality and prevent misuse.
