Precautions

This medication should not be taken by patients with hypercalcemia or those with sarcoidosis, a systemic inflammatory disease of unknown cause, and by individuals with kidney disease. Additionally, individuals allergic to any of the components should avoid this medication, as well as infants under the age of 12 months, patients with kidney stones, and patients with severe renal failure symptoms. During the use of this medication, it is recommended to avoid taking medications such as phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, and antacids together. Women who are undergoing medical treatment, pregnant or possibly pregnant, or breastfeeding should consult a healthcare professional before taking this medication due to the potential for the vitamin D component to be passed through breast milk, which may increase calcium levels in the infant's blood. Individuals with heart or circulatory problems, impaired kidney function, low protein levels, those taking cardiac glycosides, or those with a history of kidney stones should also seek consultation prior to use. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, low blood pressure, flushing, irregular heartbeat, or skin rashes occur while using this medication, you should immediately stop taking it and consult a healthcare professional. Patients with folate deficiency should be cautious as taking vitamin B12 in amounts greater than a certain level may cause adverse blood reactions. In cases of overdose, gastrointestinal issues like nausea and vomiting, increased sodium levels in the blood, heart failure, and edema may occur, and long-term use can lead to hypercalcemia or stone formation. It is particularly important to be cautious when taking this medication with certain diuretics as this may increase blood potassium levels. Stick to the recommended dosage, and it is advisable to avoid tea containing tannins, such as green tea or black tea, before and after medication intake. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children, stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and kept tightly sealed. Additionally, to maintain quality and prevent misuse, it is important not to transfer it to other containers.
