Treatment of herpes simplex virus infection (such as genital and labial herpes)
This medication is used to treat herpes simplex virus infection, which causes initial and recurrent blisters on the lips or genitals. Herpes simplex is a disease caused by the virus infecting the skin or mucous membranes and can recur, making prompt treatment important. This medication helps reduce the viral replication, alleviating symptoms and shortening the treatment duration. It effectively works against both labial and genital herpes, reducing the frequency of recurrences. It helps minimize patient discomfort and supports rapid recovery. Therefore, it is used in the treatment of herpes simplex virus infection.
Apply this medication to the affected area (the area of disease) 5 times a day at approximately 4-hour intervals. Treatment should be continued for 5 days, and if it does not resolve after 5 days of use, it may be used for an additional 5 days.
This medication should not be used by individuals with hypersensitivity to its components or those who have previously experienced an allergic reaction. Additionally, it is advisable not to administer this medication to breastfeeding women and children. Caution should be exercised when used in immunocompromised patients such as those with AIDS or bone marrow transplant recipients. When using this medication, pain or discomfort may occur if there are ulcers in the genital area. Temporary burning, stinging pain, mild pain, dermatitis, red spots, itching, skin irritation, swelling, skin discoloration, hives, rash, blisters may occur, so attention is needed. It's advisable to start treatment as soon as symptoms appear and to strictly adhere to the prescribed dosage and administration. It should not be used in asymptomatic individuals or for infection prevention purposes. This medication should not be mixed or diluted with other drugs, and the possibility of resistance development cannot be completely ruled out. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the benefits and risks of using this medication, and it is preferable not to use it while breastfeeding. This medication is for external use only and should not be applied to mucous membranes such as the eyes, mouth, or vagina. When applying, it is advisable to wear gloves or rubber gloves to prevent the medication from spreading to other areas or transmitting to others.
Urticaria, facial swelling (edema)
Tenderness (pain upon pressure), temporary burning sensation, stinging pain, mild pain, contact dermatitis, erythematous rash, eczema, occasionally irritation at the application site, itching, vulvitis, skin discoloration, rash, vesicular rash, slight dryness and peeling of the skin

This medication may be sensitive to air or moisture, so it should be stored in a tightly sealed container. Additionally, it is safe to store it at room temperature, between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius, avoiding direct sunlight.
