It also prevents rickets, allowing for the maintenance of healthy bones. Therefore, vitamin D is used to improve such health issues.

How to take

Adult dose

For adults, take 1 tablet once a day.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by people with elevated calcium levels in the blood, unknown systemic inflammatory diseases, or kidney diseases. Additionally, individuals with allergies to this medication or its ingredients, infants under 12 months, patients with kidney stones, and those with severe renal failure should not take it. During the usage of this medication, co-administration with phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, and antacids should be avoided. Women who are receiving treatment from a physician, are pregnant or may become pregnant, are breastfeeding, or are premature or infants should consult a specialist before taking this medication. Individuals with heart or circulatory issues, renal disorders, or hypoproteinemia, as well as patients on cardiac glycosides, and those with a history of kidney stones need to consult before use. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, hypotension, facial flushing, irregular heartbeat, or skin rashes occur while taking this medication, usage should be stopped immediately, and a specialist should be consulted. Caution should also be taken as high doses of Vitamin B12 can cause blood abnormalities, and an overdose may lead to gastrointestinal issues, edema, or heart problems. Long-term use may lead to elevated calcium levels in the blood or the formation of stones, hence caution is necessary. Taking this medication with certain diuretics (anti-aldosterone agents, triamterene) can lead to increased potassium levels in the blood, so care is advised. If the medication is taken improperly or if symptoms do not improve after one month of use, immediate consultation with a specialist is required. The prescribed dosage and administration must be strictly adhered to, and it is advisable to avoid drinking teas that contain tannins, such as green or black tea, before and after taking this medication.
