1) Gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer: Usually, adults take 10/600mg orally once a day. Depending on symptoms, 20/600mg may be taken orally once a day. Typically, treatment lasts for up to 8 weeks for gastric ulcers and up to 6 weeks for duodenal ulcers. 2) Erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease: 10/600mg or 20/600mg may be taken once a day for 4 to 8 weeks. If not cured after taking proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) for 8 weeks, an additional 8 weeks of 10/600mg or 20/600mg may be administered twice daily orally, but the 20/600mg dosage twice daily is for patients with confirmed severe mucosal injury only. 3) Alleviation of gastroesophageal reflux disease symptoms: 10/600mg is administered once a day. If symptoms are not controlled after 4 weeks, additional medical consultation is needed. After the symptoms disappear, on-demand therapy with 10/600mg once a day can be used to manage subsequent symptoms if necessary. 4) Long-term maintenance therapy for gastroesophageal reflux disease: Depending on the patient, 10/600mg or 20/600mg may be taken orally once a day.

This medication is used to treat gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers. It is also effective for erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease, helping to alleviate symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease. Moreover, it is used for long-term maintenance therapy of gastroesophageal reflux disease, contributing to the prevention of symptom recurrence. In summary, this medicine is used to treat diseases related to the stomach and esophagus and improve symptoms.

How to take

Precautions

This drug should not be used in certain patients. For instance, patients who are allergic to any of the components in this drug or have a history of hypersensitivity, patients taking certain antiviral drugs, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and patients with severe kidney or calcium metabolism disorders should not take this medication. Caution should be exercised when prescribing this drug to patients with impaired liver function, elderly patients, patients with a history of drug allergies, patients with reduced kidney function, patients with heart or lung issues, patients with constipation, and patients taking other medications. While taking this medication, various adverse reactions may occur, including skin rash, itching, blood abnormalities, liver function abnormalities, cardiovascular issues, gastrointestinal symptoms, neurological symptoms, respiratory problems, muscle and joint pain, visual disturbances, urinary tract issues, facial swelling, flushing, palpitations, fatigue, weight loss, loss of appetite, and photosensitivity reactions. If these symptoms occur, consult a doctor immediately. This medication can suppress stomach acid secretion, which may increase the risk of bacterial infections in the gastrointestinal tract, so inform medical staff if diarrhea persists. Long-term use requires regular blood tests and liver function tests due to potential side effects such as increased fracture risk and decreased blood magnesium levels. It is advised not to use this medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and caution should be taken as drowsiness may occur during driving or operating machinery while on this medication. It may interact with other medications, so inform medical staff of any current medications, especially when combined with antiviral agents, anticoagulants, antibiotics, or diuretics. Do not chew or crush the tablets; swallow them whole. Store the medication in a tightly sealed container in a cool, dry place out of reach of children.

Serious side effects

Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, acute hepatitis, liver dysfunction, jaundice, liver abnormalities (jaundice), confusion, lightning headache, seizures, visual disturbances, paralysis, severe allergic reactions, severe skin adverse reactions (toxic epidermal necrolysis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome), respiratory issues (shortness of breath, asthma attack, apnea), acute interstitial nephritis, severe swelling or urinary abnormalities.

Mild side effects

Rash, itching, blood abnormalities (reduced red blood cells, decreased white blood cells, anemia, etc.), elevated ALT and AST, hypertension, headache, insomnia, dizziness, cough, constipation, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, abdominal bloating, indigestion, belching, vomiting, taste disorders, drowsiness, weakness, sweating, alopecia, increased intraocular pressure, visual disturbances, urinary tract infections, joint pain, muscle pain, facial swelling, flushing, palpitations, fatigue, weight loss, loss of appetite, photosensitivity reaction.

Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.

Storage

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to protect it from air and moisture. The storage temperature should be maintained between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius. Proper storage can prolong the efficacy of the drug.
