This medicine is used for the treatment of moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease.

How to take

Adult dose

This medicine is taken orally once daily and should be administered at the same time every day. If necessary, it may be taken twice a day. The dosage escalation is as follows: - Week 1 (Days 1-7): Administer 5 mg once daily for 7 days - Week 2 (Days 8-14): Administer 10 mg once daily for 7 days - Week 3 (Days 15-21): Administer 15 mg once daily for 7 days - From week 4 onwards: Administer 20 mg once daily.

Precautions

This medicine should not be used in patients who are allergic to its ingredients. Patients with severely impaired liver function and those with severely decreased kidney function should also avoid taking this medicine. Since this medicine contains lactose, patients with a genetic disorder that affects lactose digestion should avoid taking it. Patients with a history of epilepsy or seizures should use this medicine cautiously, and patients at risk of developing seizures should also exercise caution. Concurrent use of this medicine with certain other medications, such as amantadine, ketamine, and dextromethorphan, may increase central nervous system side effects, so concurrent use is not recommended. Patients with changes in urine acidity or those who have had recent heart issues should also be cautious when using this medicine. During the use of this medicine, side effects such as dizziness, headache, constipation, drowsiness, and hypertension may occur; if symptoms are severe, medical consultation is advised. This medicine may interact with other medications, so be sure to inform your healthcare provider of any medications currently being taken. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should consult their doctor before using this medicine, as its use may pose risks to the fetus. If breastfeeding, it is recommended to discontinue nursing, as this medicine may pass into breast milk. This medicine should not be used in children or adolescents under 18 years of age, as its safety and effectiveness have not been established for this age group. In the event of overdose, severe symptoms such as coma, hallucinations, and seizures may occur, and immediate medical treatment is required. This medicine may impair the reaction times and concentration of the patient, requiring caution when driving or operating machinery.
