Vitamin D is particularly necessary during pregnancy, breastfeeding, childhood growth, and old age. The vitamin D contained in this medicine helps support healthy development of bones and teeth, and is effective in preventing rickets. Additionally, it addresses calcium deficiency issues and is used to supplement the calcium required by the body, thereby helping to maintain bone health and support growth and recovery.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults take 2 tablets, twice a day.

Precautions

This medicine should not be used by patients with hypercalcemia, sarcoidosis (an unknown cause systemic inflammatory disease), or those with kidney disease. Additionally, individuals who have had allergic reactions to any components of this medicine should also avoid using it. It is also safe to refrain from this medication for infants under 12 months, patients with kidney stones, and those with severe renal failure symptoms. While taking this medicine, it is advisable not to concurrently use certain medications such as phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, and antacids. Patients under treatment, pregnant women or women who may become pregnant, and breastfeeding women must consult with their doctor or pharmacist before using this medication. Care is especially needed as vitamin D components can affect newborns through breast milk. Patients with heart or circulatory function issues, renal impairment, hypoalbuminemia, those on cardiac glycosides, and individuals with a history of kidney stones should also consult a physician. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, hypotension, flushing, irregular heartbeat, or skin rash appear while taking the medicine, use should be immediately discontinued and a healthcare professional should be consulted. Additionally, if a patient with folic acid deficiency takes a substantial amount of vitamin B12, blood-related side effects may occur, so caution is warranted. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as gastrointestinal disturbances, hypernatremia, heart failure, and edema may occur, and prolonged use may lead to hypercalcemia or stones. When taken with aldosterone antagonists or triamterene, there is a risk of hyperkalemia, so care should be taken. Adhere to the prescribed dosages, and it is recommended to avoid beverages containing tannins such as green tea or black tea before and after taking this medication. Store this medicine out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, in a cool, dry place, and in a tightly sealed container. It is also important not to transfer it to another container to maintain quality.
