This medication is used as an adjunct therapy with opioid analgesics to manage moderate to severe pain. Additionally, it aids in reducing discomfort for patients with fever by providing an antipyretic effect. Therefore, it is effectively used for pain relief and temperature control.

Dosage and Administration

Precautions

This medication may increase the risk of serious cardiovascular problems such as myocardial infarction and stroke in patients with cardiovascular disease or risk factors. It can cause serious gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and perforation, especially in the elderly or long-term users who need to be more cautious. Patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding, severe blood, liver, kidney, or heart disease, and those allergic to this medication should not use it. Patients with a history of bronchial asthma or hypersensitivity to aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should not take this medication. In late pregnancy, the risk of premature closure of the ductus arteriosus in the fetus exists, so this medication should not be used. Patients undergoing high-dose methotrexate chemotherapy should also avoid it. Care should be taken when administering this medication to patients with specific conditions such as blood disorders, liver or kidney function impairment, hypertension, heart failure, and especially in the elderly, pregnant, and nursing women. Adverse reactions should be closely monitored during treatment, and if skin rash, breathing difficulties, or severe gastrointestinal symptoms occur, use should be immediately discontinued and medical consultation sought. This medication should not be taken with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and interactions may occur when taken with aspirin, anticoagulants, ACE inhibitors, diuretics, lithium, methotrexate, etc., so patients must inform healthcare professionals of any other medications they are taking. Pregnant women are particularly advised to avoid use after mid-pregnancy, and in nursing women, the medication may pass through breast milk, leading to adverse reactions in the baby; therefore, breastfeeding should be discontinued or medication use avoided. This medication should not be used in children under 6 months of age, as safety and efficacy have not been established, and in the elderly, dose adjustment and monitoring may be necessary due to decreased body function. In cases of overdose, serious symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, vomiting, liver function abnormalities, kidney failure, breathing difficulties, and hypotension may occur, so the dosage must be strictly adhered to, and in cases of overdose, use should be immediately discontinued, and medical treatment sought.
