Treatment of tinea pedis caused by dermatophytes.
This drug is used to treat skin infections caused by dermatophytes such as Trichophyton, Microsporum canis, and Epidermophyton floccosum, particularly tinea pedis in adolescents over 15 years of age and adults.
This drug is applied only once. Before application, the affected area should be washed thoroughly and dried completely, then apply a sufficient amount to sufficiently moisten the affected area and its surroundings. For complete treatment of the fungus, apply to both feet even if lesions are not present on the unaffected side. Apply this drug thinly between the toes and to the entire sole of the foot and up to about 1.5 cm above the sole, then let it dry for 1-2 minutes.
This drug is an external solution containing terbinafine hydrochloride and is used for the treatment of fungal infections of the skin. This drug should not be used in patients who have shown allergy or hypersensitivity reactions to terbinafine or any component of this drug. Women who are pregnant, may become pregnant, or breastfeeding should consult a doctor before using this drug and should use it cautiously only if necessary. It is recommended not to use this drug in children under 15 years of age, as safety and efficacy have not been sufficiently proven. If symptoms such as hives, redness, erythema, itching, irritation, contact dermatitis, skin peeling, pain, or burning sensation occur while using this drug, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor or pharmacist. If skin irritation worsens or symptoms worsen while using this drug, stop using it and seek advice from a healthcare professional. When using this drug, it is advisable not to use occlusive dressings or packaging methods unless directed by a physician. If there is no response to this drug, tests to confirm the presence of fungal infection should be performed, and other treatments may be applied if necessary. As this drug contains alcohol components such as ethanol, special caution should be taken when applying it to infants or mucous membranes. When applied to injured or widespread areas or in infants, systemic side effects may occur, so further caution is required. This drug is for external use only and should be kept away from eyes and mucous membranes. If it enters the eyes, it should be immediately washed out thoroughly with plenty of water. It is advisable not to use it on nails, scalp, around the mouth, or vaginal areas and to be cautious when applying it to areas with cracked or wounded skin. This drug contains propylene glycol, so patients with a history of allergy or hypersensitivity to this substance should use it carefully. If this drug is accidentally ingested, appropriate emergency treatment such as gastric lavage should be sought immediately. After use, keep it out of the reach of children, and store it at a temperature between 15 to 30 degrees Celsius.
