This medication is effective for relieving constipation. It also helps improve related symptoms that can occur due to constipation, including loss of appetite, abdominal bloating, abnormal fermentation in the intestines, and hemorrhoids. Thus, it is used to manage several uncomfortable symptoms associated with constipation at once.

How to take

Adult dose

The adult single dose (3.5g) is taken twice a day, in the morning and evening on an empty stomach (before meals or between meals). However, the initial dose should be the minimum amount, adjusting upwards or downwards gradually based on the shape and condition of the stool.

Precautions

This medication contains lactose, so individuals with a genetic condition that impairs lactose digestion should not take it. For example, patients with galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not use this medicine. Additionally, individuals with acute abdominal diseases or bowel obstruction should not take this medication, and children under 3 years old should not use it. During the use of this medication, care should be taken not to take antacids or milk within 1 hour before or after intake. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, individuals experiencing severe abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting, those currently taking other medications, allergy-prone individuals or those with a family history of allergies, and those with a history of rectal bleeding or bowel dysfunction should always consult a physician or pharmacist. If symptoms such as skin rash, redness, itching, severe abdominal pain, diarrhea, or vomiting occur while taking this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a specialist. If abdominal discomfort or cramps develop, or if constipation does not improve after being used for more than a week, stop taking the medication and consult a physician. This medication must be taken according to the prescribed dosage and administration, and prolonged use may lead to tolerance, exacerbating constipation; therefore, it should not be taken for more than a week. If a laxative is needed daily, it is essential to investigate the underlying causes of constipation accurately. Lastly, this medication should be stored out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, and in a cool, dry place. It is also advisable not to transfer it into another container to maintain the drug's quality.
