Central nervous system symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, insomnia, and depression have also been reported, and various adverse reactions may occur in the respiratory, musculoskeletal, and urinary systems. This medication inhibits gastric acid secretion, so long-term use may increase the risk of fractures and may lead to electrolyte abnormalities such as hypomagnesemia, hence regular blood tests are necessary. There may be interactions with specific medications, so it is essential to inform healthcare professionals if other medications are being taken. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not use this medication, and elderly patients may experience more pronounced side effects due to reduced liver function, thus care should be taken. Safety in children has not been established, and its use is not recommended. There is no specific antidote for overdose, and treatment and supportive care according to symptoms are needed. This medication should be swallowed whole without chewing or crushing the tablets and kept out of reach of children.
