View approved original text

Vildagliptin and Metformin work together to help improve blood glucose levels. Taking this medication can increase the therapeutic effect for those struggling with blood sugar control. Therefore, it is appropriately used for type 2 diabetes that is difficult to manage with limited diet and exercise alone.

Particularly, if acute pancreatitis symptoms occur, treatment should be stopped immediately. This medication is not suitable for patients with type 1 diabetes requiring insulin therapy. Regular monitoring of blood sugar, as well as kidney and liver function tests, is necessary, and vitamin B12 levels should also be checked periodically. In cases of overdose, supportive treatment and possibly dialysis may be required. There may be symptoms like dizziness when driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised, and alcohol consumption should be avoided.
