View approved original text

This medication is a treatment to help adults with type 2 diabetes manage their blood sugar levels effectively when used alongside dietary and exercise regimens. It can be administered alone but is typically used in combination with other diabetes medications, such as metformin, when blood sugar control is inadequate. For instance, if blood sugar control is insufficient with metformin monotherapy, this medication can be added to enhance therapeutic effects. Additionally, it may be used alongside insulin or other medications, with careful consideration for patients with cardiovascular disease. Overall, this drug plays a role in improving blood sugar regulation and assisting with diabetes management.
