Improvement of hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia (total cholesterol, LDL-C, etc.)
This medicine is used as an adjunct to dietary therapy to lower elevated total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia, and to raise levels of good cholesterol (HDL cholesterol). It is also administered as an adjunctive therapy when other lipid-lowering treatments are insufficient in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia. This medication is used along with appropriate dietary therapy in patients at high risk of cardiovascular disease, and it is also important to treat other secondary causes. Before administration, blood lipid levels should be checked, and if necessary, accurate LDL concentrations should be confirmed by ultracentrifugation. Overall, this drug helps to improve dyslipidemia and reduce the risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease.
This medication is administered once daily, regardless of meals. The dosage should be adjusted based on the patient's baseline LDL cholesterol, target treatment levels, and response to the medication. The dosage range for primary hypercholesterolemia is 10/10mg to 10/80mg once daily, and the recommended initial dose is either 10/10mg or 10/20mg once daily. If a greater reduction in LDL cholesterol is needed, the initial dose may be 10/40mg once daily. Start administration
