Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with allergies to the active ingredient or any other ingredients. This medication is not suitable for patients with diabetic ketoacidosis, severe diabetic coma, or type 1 diabetes. In such cases, immediate blood glucose control with insulin or fluids is necessary. Insulin therapy is also required in patients with severe infections, during and after surgery, or those with significant trauma; therefore, the use of this medication is not recommended. Caution is advised when using this medication in some patients with severely impaired liver function or heart failure. Particularly, it is better to avoid use in cases of severe heart failure. Patients taking sulfonylureas or insulin should be cautious due to the risk of hypoglycemia. Patients with poor nutritional status, irregular meal intake, vigorous exercise, or excessive alcohol consumption may risk hypoglycemia. Patients with a history of abdominal surgery or intestinal obstruction also require caution when using this medication. Patients who may be affected by heart rhythm, such as those with arrhythmias or heart failure, or those with hypokalemia should consult a doctor before using this medication. Symptoms of acute pancreatitis may occur, so if there is persistent abdominal pain or vomiting, immediate consultation with medical staff is required. When using this medication, one must be well-versed in the symptoms of hypoglycemia, and appropriate measures such as consuming sugar-containing food are necessary if symptoms appear. Additionally, the risk of hypoglycemia may increase when this medication is used in combination with other diabetes drugs, so it is essential to carefully review the medication regimen. Pregnant or nursing women should carefully consider the use of this medication and consult a specialist if necessary. There has not been enough confirmation of safety and efficacy in children or elderly individuals, so extra care is needed when administering this medication. In case of overdose, general treatment should be administered and the patient's condition should be closely monitored. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and should not be transferred to another container. Finally, if joint pain or skin blisters occur during the use of this medication, immediate medical attention should be sought.
