Vitamin D is particularly necessary during pregnancy and lactation, growth periods, and in old age. It plays an important role in helping the growth of bones and teeth and maintaining skeletal health. It also helps prevent rickets and supports healthy bone formation. Therefore, Vitamin D is used during these periods for the prevention of bone development deficiencies and rickets.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults should take 1 tablet once a day.

Child dose

Children aged 8 years and older should take 1 tablet once a day.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with hypercalcemia, sarcoidosis (a type of systemic inflammatory disease with an unknown cause), or those with kidney disease. It should also not be taken by individuals with allergic reactions to the ingredients, infants under 12 months, patients with kidney stones, or those with severe renal insufficiency. This medication contains lactose, so individuals with lactose intolerance, a deficiency of lactase enzyme, or genetic disorders such as glucose-galactose malabsorption should avoid using it. While taking this medication, it should not be taken with phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, or antacids. Individuals receiving medical treatment, children who are exposed to sunlight and have normal diets, pregnant or potentially pregnant women, breastfeeding women, premature infants, and newborns should consult a specialist before using this medication. Additionally, patients with heart or circulatory problems or those with kidney disorders or hypoproteinemia, as well as individuals taking cardiac glycosides or who have a history of kidney stones should also consult a specialist. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, low blood pressure, flushing, irregular heartbeat, or skin rashes occur while taking this medication, stop taking it immediately and consult a specialist. Overdosage may lead to gastrointestinal disturbances, hypernatremia, heart failure, or edema, and long-term use may result in hypercalcemia or stone formation. Caution is especially needed if taken alongside aldosterone antagonists or triamterene due to the risk of hyperkalemia. It is crucial to adhere to the prescribed dosage and administration, and children should take it under the supervision of a guardian. It is recommended to avoid teas containing tannins, such as green tea or black tea, during or before and after taking this medication. When storing, keep it in a tightly sealed container out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, in a cool and dry place. Moreover, to prevent medication misuse and maintain quality, it is important not to transfer it into another container.
