This medication is used for patients who need to administer two ingredients, Candesartan Cilexetil and Rosuvastatin, together. First, Candesartan Cilexetil primarily helps patients with essential hypertension and heart failure with impaired left ventricular function. It is particularly suitable for cases requiring additional therapy for ACE inhibitors or for patients with poor tolerance. Rosuvastatin is primarily used for diseases associated with hypercholesterolemia and is administered as an adjunctive therapy when dietary therapy is insufficient. Additionally, it aids patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, dysbetalipoproteinemia. Moreover, it contributes to reducing the risk of stroke, myocardial infarction, and arterial revascularization in middle-aged people with elevated high-sensitivity C-reactive protein levels and cardiovascular disease risk factors. Therefore, this medication improves hypertension, heart failure, hyperlipidemia, and the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Candesartan Cilexetil - Essential hypertension: Recommended oral administration of 8-16 mg once daily. If blood pressure is not adequately controlled after 4 weeks at 16 mg, it may be increased to a maximum of 32 mg. - Heart failure: Initial dose is recommended at 4 mg once daily. Candesartan Cilexetil - Safety and efficacy in children and adolescents under 18 years old have not been established.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. It should not be used in patients with allergic reactions to this medication, severely impaired liver function, and women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Additionally, it is contraindicated in patients with specific diseases such as severe kidney disorders, myopathy, or hereditary angioedema. Elderly patients, those with hyperkalemia, or patients with compromised liver function should exercise special caution when using this medication and should regularly undergo liver and kidney function tests. This medication can cause muscle-related side effects, so if symptoms like myalgia or weakness occur, the patient should consult a doctor immediately, and blood tests may be required to check for muscle damage. Also, medication interactions may occur if taken with other antihypertensives, diuretics, certain antibiotics, antifungals, etc., so the patient must inform healthcare professionals of all medications currently being taken. Dizziness may occur when driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised, and it should be stored out of reach of children.
