Initial treatment effect for recurrent herpes labialis
The use of antiviral agents is very important for the initial treatment of recurrent herpes labialis. These medications help prevent the progression of symptoms, promote lesion healing, and alleviate pain. Initiating treatment early can reduce the severity of symptoms. It can also decrease the frequency of recurrences and assist in rapid recovery. Therefore, antiviral agents are used for the initial treatment of recurrent herpes labialis.
Apply an adequate amount that can sufficiently cover the border of the affected area 5 times a day for 5 days. Treatment should be initiated as soon as initial symptoms and signs appear.
This medication should not be used in patients with certain infections, especially bacterial infections such as tuberculosis or syphilis, fungal infections such as candidiasis or tinea, and viral infections such as shingles or chickenpox. Additionally, individuals with allergies or hypersensitivity to this medication's components, those with severe immune system damage like bone marrow transplant recipients or AIDS patients, patients with eczematous otitis externa with a perforated tympanic membrane, individuals with ulcers or severe burns, those with perioral dermatitis or common acne, rosacea patients, nursing mothers, individuals under 18 years of age, and those with a history of myocardial infarction should also avoid this medication. This medication should not be applied to sensitive areas such as the eyes, nose, mouth, or genitals, and concomitant use with certain medications should be avoided. It is advisable to avoid breastfeeding during use, and women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as the elderly, should consult with a physician or pharmacist before use. Side effects such as dryness of the skin, peeling, burning sensation, numbness, redness, inflammation may occur, and if such symptoms arise, use should be discontinued immediately and professional advice should be sought. With prolonged or extensive use, side effects such as skin atrophy, vasodilation, acne, and skin infections may occur, so caution is needed. This medication should only be used for a maximum of 5 days, and if symptoms do not improve or worsen, professional consultation should be sought immediately. Moreover, this medication is intended solely for the treatment of herpes labialis around the lips and should not be used for any other skin conditions or for infection prevention.

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to protect it from air and moisture, preferably at room temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius. Proper storage maintains the medication's effectiveness for a longer period.
