This medicine is used when Vitamin D is insufficient during pregnancy, breastfeeding, growth periods, and old age. The benefits of Vitamin D help prevent bone and dental hypoplasia and effectively prevent rickets. It also helps improve calcium deficiency and supplies the necessary calcium to the body, which is useful for maintaining bone health. Therefore, this medicine is used to supplement the Vitamin D and calcium needed for bone health during growth and aging.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults: take 1 tablet once daily

Child dose

Children over 8 years old: take 1 tablet once daily

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with hypercalcemia, patients with sarcoidosis, which is an unknown cause of systemic inflammatory disease, or patients with kidney disease. Additionally, it should not be administered to patients who are allergic to this medicine or its components, to infants under 12 months, to patients with kidney stones, or to patients with severe renal failure. This medication contains lactose; therefore, patients with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, lactose deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take it. While taking this medicine, do not take phosphate, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, or antacids simultaneously. Infants under the age of 1, patients receiving treatment from a physician, children who have significant sun exposure and eat normally, pregnant women or women who may become pregnant, nursing mothers, premature infants, and infants should consult with a physician or pharmacist before taking this medication. Patients with heart or circulatory issues, renal impairment, or hypoalbuminemia, and patients taking cardiac glycosides should exercise caution. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, hypotension, facial flushing, irregular heartbeat, or skin rash occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a specialist. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms, hypernatremia, congestive heart failure, or edema may occur, and prolonged use may result in hypercalcemia and nephrolithiasis. Additionally, there may be a risk of hyperkalemia when taken with specific diuretics, so caution is warranted. The prescribed dosage and method must be strictly followed, and it should be administered to children under the supervision of a guardian. It is advisable to avoid consuming tannin-containing teas, such as green tea or black tea, before and after taking this medication. When storing, keep it out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, and in a cool, dry place in a tightly sealed container. Furthermore, it is crucial not to transfer the medication to another container to maintain its quality.
