Improvement of lipid levels in hypercholesterolemia (primary, mixed types) and suppression of the risk of atherosclerotic vascular diseases
This medication helps lower blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia, while increasing good cholesterol (HDL) levels. It is especially used in conjunction with appropriate dietary management for patients at higher risk of cardiovascular diseases, preventing the progression of atherosclerotic vascular diseases. It is important to identify and treat other causes of dyslipidemia such as diabetes and hypothyroidism before use, and to monitor treatment efficacy through systematic lipid testing. This medication is used when dietary and non-pharmacological interventions are insufficiently effective, and regular testing is necessary to ensure patient safety and effectiveness. Therefore, it is used to improve the regulation of hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia, enhancing cardiovascular health.
This medication is administered once daily, regardless of meals. For primary hypercholesterolemia, an initial dose of 10/5 mg per day is recommended. Patients requiring greater reduction in LDL cholesterol may have their dosage adjusted. After starting treatment or adjusting the dose, blood lipid levels should be checked at intervals of more than 4 weeks for further dosage adjustments. The dosage may be increased up to a maximum of 10/20 mg per day.
