Treatment of essential hypertension for blood pressure control
This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension who have difficulty controlling blood pressure with telmisartan alone. As a combination therapy, it effectively lowers blood pressure and reduces the risk of complications due to hypertension. Therefore, it helps improve blood pressure management.
For patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with telmisartan alone, take one dose daily with or without food, along with a drink. It is recommended to adjust the dose of each component according to the individual's needs, and when clinically appropriate, this medication can be directly switched from monotherapy. - Telmisartan/Hydrochlorothiazide combination 40/12.5 mg can be administered when blood pressure is insufficiently controlled with 40 mg of telmisartan.
The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in children under 18 years of age.
This medication should not be used during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, as it can cause serious harm to the fetus. Patients with allergies to any ingredients or additives in this medication or those with specific liver or kidney diseases should not take it. Elderly patients or those with specific heart diseases, liver dysfunction, or kidney dysfunction should use this medication with caution and should be monitored regularly by a doctor. Due to the hydrochlorothiazide component, electrolyte imbalances may occur, so potassium, sodium levels, and other blood values should be tested regularly. This medication may interact with other antihypertensive drugs or specific medications, so inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medications. Skin sensitivity to sunlight may increase, so apply sunblock during treatment and consult a healthcare professional immediately if any unusual skin reactions occur.
