Precautions
This medicine should not be taken by patients with hypercalcemia (excessive calcium in the blood), sarcoidosis (a systemic inflammatory disease of unknown cause), or those with kidney diseases. People who are allergic to any of the ingredients in this medicine should avoid taking it, and children under 12 months of age are also discouraged from using this medicine. Patients with kidney stones or severe kidney failure symptoms should not take this medicine. Do not take this medicine simultaneously with phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, antacids, or levodopa during treatment. Women who are currently receiving treatment from a doctor, pregnant, potentially pregnant, nursing, premature infants, and young children should consult a specialist before taking this medicine. Particularly, caution is needed as the vitamin D component may lead to hypercalcemia in newborns through breast milk. Individuals with heart or circulatory issues, kidney disorders, hypoalbuminemia, or a history of kidney stones also need to consult before taking this medicine. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomatitis, skin rash, abnormal heart rhythm, central nervous system dysfunction, gastrointestinal disturbances, low blood pressure, or pulmonary edema occur during use, it is important to stop taking the medicine immediately and consult a specialist. Moreover, long-term consumption of pyridoxine in doses of 500 mg to 2 g may cause neurological disorders, and patients with folic acid deficiency taking over 10 μg of vitamin B12 daily may experience blood anomalies. High-dose intake can worsen peptic ulcers, disrupt glucose metabolism, induce hyperuricemia, and cause liver damage, so caution is advised. Overdose may lead to symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, hypernatremia, heart failure, and edema, and thus should be approached with care. Caution is also necessary when taken with aldosterone antagonists or triamterene, as this may elevate blood potassium levels. If symptoms do not improve after one month of use, a consultation with a specialist is necessary. This medicine must be taken according to the prescribed dosage and administration, and may cause urine to turn yellow, which can affect clinical test results. It is advisable to avoid teas containing tannins, such as green tea and black tea, before and after taking this medicine. When storing, keep it out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, in a cool and dry place. It is also crucial to avoid transferring the medication to other containers to prevent misuse and maintain quality.
