This medication is prescribed only for patients who must take Olmesartan Medoxomil for hypertension treatment and Rosuvastatin for dyslipidemia treatment simultaneously. Olmesartan Medoxomil helps effectively treat essential hypertension. Rosuvastatin is primarily used as an adjunct to dietary therapy for patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia, lowering LDL cholesterol levels and delaying atherosclerosis progression. Additionally, it is used as an adjunct in the treatment of familial hypercholesterolemia or dysbetalipoproteinemia. For patients at high risk of cardiovascular events, it helps reduce the risks associated with stroke, myocardial infarction, and vascular revascularization. Therefore, this medication is used to improve cardiovascular health by managing both hypertension and dyslipidemia simultaneously.

Precautions

This medication can severely harm the fetus or newborn if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it must be stopped immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with allergies to any of the ingredients of this medication or alcohol intolerance, pregnant or potentially pregnant women, and nursing mothers should not take this medication. It is not safe for patients with severely impaired kidney function or on dialysis, severe liver dysfunction, bile duct obstruction, undiagnosed liver diseases, or muscular diseases to use this medication. Patients with a history of muscle-related diseases, alcohol abuse, the elderly, or specific genetic muscle disorders should exercise caution, as the risk of muscle injury increases with high doses. This medication contains lactose, so it should not be administered to patients with lactose intolerance or related genetic disorders. When initiating this medication in patients with reduced blood volume or low salt levels, hypotension may occur, thus careful monitoring is required. In patients whose kidney function is dependent on this medication or those with renovascular hypertension, it should be administered cautiously, with regular testing of potassium levels and kidney function through blood tests. Since this medication lowers blood pressure, dizziness may occur; therefore, it is advisable to avoid hazardous tasks such as working at heights or driving. Patients with a history of liver disease or excessive alcohol consumption are recommended to undergo liver function tests before and during the administration of this medication. If symptoms such as muscle pain, weakness, or spasms occur, notify medical personnel immediately, and necessary blood tests should be performed to check for muscle damage. When taking this medication with certain drugs (potassium-sparing diuretics, lithium, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, etc.), the risk of side effects may increase due to interactions, so consultation with healthcare providers is necessary. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant must consult their healthcare provider before taking this medication and employ appropriate contraception. Nursing mothers should consider stopping breastfeeding or discontinuing the medication due to potential adverse effects on the infant. Safety and efficacy have not been established for children under 18 years of age, so use is not recommended. Elderly patients may require dose adjustment due to potential increased drug concentration. In case of overdose, symptoms may include hypotension and palpitations, and appropriate medical treatment should be sought if necessary. This medication should be kept out of reach of children, and it should not be transferred to another container.
