This medication is used in conjunction with diet and exercise to help manage blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

The recommended dosage for this medication is 5 mg once daily. It can be taken regardless of meals.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with allergies to the active ingredient or other components. Additionally, it should not be administered to patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Caution is required when taking this medication with other drugs that can induce hypoglycemia, such as insulin or sulfonylureas, as there may be an increased risk of hypoglycemia. Experience with this medication in patients with heart failure is limited, so it should be administered with caution. Acute pancreatitis may occur during treatment with this medication, so if severe abdominal pain persists, the medication should be discontinued immediately and medical attention should be sought.
