This medication should not be taken by patients with hypercalcemia (high calcium levels in the blood) or those with sarcoidosis, which is an unknown cause of systemic inflammatory disease, as well as individuals with kidney disorders. Additionally, individuals who have had allergic reactions to this medication or its ingredients, infants under 12 months old, individuals with kidney stones, and those with severe renal failure should avoid taking this medication. It is advisable not to take this medication simultaneously with phosphate, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, antacids, and drugs like levodopa. Individuals under medical treatment, patients with oxalate nephropathy, pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, nursing mothers, premature infants, individuals with gastrointestinal diseases, or cardiovascular disorders should consult a specialist before taking this medication. Furthermore, patients with kidney impairment, hypoalbuminemia, gout, or a history of kidney stones should also consult before use. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, abdominal bloating, skin rash, irregular heartbeats, central nervous system dysfunction, dermatitis, hair loss, gastrointestinal disorder, hypotension, or pulmonary edema appear during treatment, immediate discontinuation of the medication and consultation with a specialist is required. Long-term use at high doses may lead to tolerance and may cause neurological disorders with high doses of pyridoxine. Additionally, patients lacking folic acid may exhibit hematological adverse reactions from excessive intake of vitamin B12. High doses can exacerbate peptic ulcers, impair glucose tolerance, and cause hyperuricemia and liver damage, so caution is required. Overdosing may result in symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, hypernatremia, congestive heart failure, and edema. Particularly, caution is needed as the use of this medication with aldosterone antagonists or triamterene may increase the risk of hyperkalemia. This medication must be taken strictly according to the prescribed dosage and directions, as it may affect blood glucose measurements during urine tests, and may cause urine to turn yellow which can affect testing results. It is advisable to avoid tea containing tannins, such as green tea or black tea, during or before and after taking this medication. When storing, keep out of reach of children, avoid direct sunlight, and store in a cool, dry, and airtight container.
