Precautions
Caution is advised as administering more than 5,000 IU of vitamin A per day to women during the first three months of pregnancy or women who may become pregnant poses a risk of congenital defects. Children, especially those under 6 years of age, can die from overdose of this medication, so it must be kept out of reach of children. Patients with hypercalcemia, kidney disease, or certain inflammatory diseases should not take this medication, nor should individuals allergic to this medication or its components. During treatment with this medication, phosphates, calcium salts, certain antibiotics, antacids, and levodopa should not be taken concurrently. Particularly, pregnant and lactating women, premature infants, children, and patients with cardiac or renal diseases should always consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication, and those allergic to the coloring agents included in this medication should also exercise caution. If abnormal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, skin rash, irregular heartbeat, or abdominal pain occur during administration, discontinue use immediately and consult a professional. Additionally, prolonged use of high doses may lead to side effects such as nerve damage, liver damage, and increased risk of osteoporosis, so it is essential to follow the prescribed dosage and administration. When administering to children, supervision by a guardian is necessary, and since vitamin A included in this medication can be sufficiently obtained through regular meals, care should be taken not to exceed the dosage when used as a supplement. It is also advisable to avoid tannin-containing beverages, such as green tea or black tea, during administration as they may affect blood or urine test results; inform medical personnel if testing is required.
